On Saturday, April 4, 2020, a virtual meeting of the Men’s Group Seminar (10:15 to 11:30 AM) and the Relationship Group Seminar (11:45 AM to 1:00 PM) will be held.
The meetings will focus on the COVID-19 pandemic and the significant social, emotional, psychological and cultural impacts of the outbreak. Also, this opportunity to meet during shelter-in-place will hopefully provide some much needed social connection and engagement. If you would like to attend either of these virtual group seminars, please email me directly (jt@jamestobinphd.com) so that I can send you a link with directions for how to register for, and log in to, the video conferencing platform.
Several of the most intriguing writings on the pandemic I have come across so far that we can discuss include:
- Ed Young’s article in The Atlantic that provides a sobering perspective on the outbreak and its aftermath
- Robin Wright’s piece from The New Yorker on the emotional toll of loneliness
- Wired’s view on how to reduce anxiety during the pandemic
