Virtual Meetings of Group Seminars on April 4, 2020: The Men’s Group and The Relationship Group

Mar 31, 2020 | Events

On Saturday, April 4, 2020, a virtual meeting of the Men’s Group Seminar (10:15 to 11:30 AM) and the Relationship Group Seminar (11:45 AM to 1:00 PM) will be held.

The meetings will focus on the COVID-19 pandemic and the significant social, emotional, psychological and cultural impacts of the outbreak. Also, this opportunity to meet during shelter-in-place will hopefully provide some much needed social connection and engagement. If you would like to attend either of these virtual group seminars, please email me directly (jt@jamestobinphd.com) so that I can send you a link with directions for how to register for, and log in to, the video conferencing platform.

Several of the most intriguing writings on the pandemic I have come across so far that we can discuss include:

  • Ed Young’s article in The Atlantic that provides a sobering perspective on the outbreak and its aftermath

  • Robin Wright’s piece from The New Yorker on the emotional toll of loneliness

If you plan to attend, please RSVP to me at 949-338-4388 or at jt@jamestobinphd.com. The fee is $25.00 (payable at the time of registration) and informed consent for participation in this telehealth event must be completed prior to the seminar. Please note that this group seminar is psychoeducational and does not constitute psychotherapy.
